Andrew White

Director

Andrew White has spent the last 25 years involved with the UK property market and has gained valuable experience across all real estate fields, including Fund and Asset Management, Investment and Development. Andrew has been a Director of CNM Estates since July 2013.

Andrew’s career history includes:

• Property Director, Craigend Properties Limited (08/11-Present)
• CEO, Matrix Property, Middle East (03/10-08/11)
• Board Director, Kenmore Property Group Limited, Edinburgh, Dubai and Doha, Qatar
• Head of UK Investment, Kenmore Property Group Limited, Edinburgh
• Fund Manager, TSB Life Fund and Hill Samuel Property Unit Trust, Hill Samuel Property Services (part of Lloyds TSB), St. Pauls, London (1989-98)
• Fund Manager, Main Life Fund, Sunlife Properties (now AXA Sunlife), Knightsbridge, London (1987-89)

Mr White is a Qualified Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and has a BSc (Hons) in Urban Estate Surveying from Nottingham Trent University.

Mr White lives between Abu Dhabi, London and Edinburgh, and is married with three children.

Carl Manners

Land Buyer and Development Manager

Carl joined CNM in 2023, as a Land Acquisition & Development Manager. Having been born and raised in Kingston Upon Thames, Carl is passionate about the regeneration and supply of new homes in the area. Carl has a particular focus on generating new business for the pipeline and is excited to manage the CNM portfolio, in his hometown.

Carl is working towards becoming a qualified member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), after graduating from the University of Manchester. Developing a passion for both land and urban planning throughout his early career. Carl believes that national planning policy reform and more investment in land and construction, is the most viable solution to the national housing supply deficiencies.

On a Sunday afternoon, you are most likely to find Carl in two principle locations: taking a leisurely cycle ride along the riverbanks of the Thames, or with his dog, exploring the peaceful Isabella Plantation & Richmond Park.

Charmaine Vos

Development Manager

Charmaine joined CNM Estates in mid 2021 as a Development Manager in order to help deliver the Regal Scheme, an old 1930s Cinema, given her already extensive knowledge of the project.

Before joining CNM Charmaine studied and worked in Cape Town and Auckland but has called London home for the last 15 years plus.

Charmaine is also an RIBA certified architect and PMI Certified Project manager, which she applies to her role at CNM - helping come up with creative solutions to problems from a variety of perspectives.

She prides herself in maintaining a sense of humour in the face of adversity and is always up for a cheeky pint.

Eduardo Mustad

Chief Technology Officer

Eduardo joined CNM Estates in 2015. His role as Chief Technology Officer sees him examine the short and long term needs of the company to ensure we reach our business objectives. For the last 10 years Eduardo has worked in a number of financial roles advising global equity funds. He is also an administrator in his family business.

Prior to this Eduardo provided competitive intelligence for Albert Inc, a start-up search engine. He began his career in Germany and in the US with REHAU, a tier one supplier to car companies, working in various engineering roles.

Eduardo has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management. He is married with one son and spends his spare time enjoying the great outdoors – skippering his yacht, skiing and scuba diving when time allows.

Gary Udall

Senior Construction Manager

Gary joined CNM Estates in December 2022 as a Senior Construction Manager.

Gary’s main role is leading the setup of the new self-delivery construction branch of the company as well as supporting and advising our Development Managers on the delivery aspects of projects.

Gary has over 20 years’ experience in delivering schemes across multiple sectors but most predominantly in Residential, Education, Health and Fire and Rescue.

He has experience in both Traditional and Modern Methods of Construction having worked as a construction manager across three large Blue Chip contractors, namely, Wates, Kier and Balfour Beatty Capital.

Gary has a BSc Hons degree in Building Management from Northumbria University.

Laila Samady-Mustad

Director of Business Development

Laila is responsible for corporate business development strategy at CNM Estates. She is also an advisor for the company’s marketing and communications strategy, and plays an integral role in our company management. She initially joined the company in 2016, as Director of Community Engagement.

Laila has 20 years’ experience both academically and in the pharmaceutical, medical and biotechnology industry in biological sciences, cancer research and therapeutics in the UK, France and in the US, with expertise in medical affairs, partnerships, business development and capital raise strategy. Based in London, she has been working as strategic advisor, Vice-President, Business Development for two companies, Covanos Inc., a development stage medical technology company focusing on computational vascular diagnostics and Global Genomics Group (G3 Therapeutics), a biotechnology company with expertise in life sciences, artificial intelligence and data computing.

With a PhD in Molecular Pathology and Immunology from University College London (UCL), Laila’s work at UCL led to the development of patents and a spin out company, BioVex which was acquired by Amgen in 2011 for $1B. While at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, she served in increasingly senior roles initially in cardiovascular medical affairs leading to a global strategic role in oncology medical affairs and Global Trial Alliance Manager. Prior to her PhD, Laila obtained a BSc in Biochemistry at Trinity College, Hartford, CT and MSc in Molecular and Cell Biology from Institut Pasteur, Paris.

Laila lives in London with her husband and 7 year old son, and enjoys as a hobby to exercise and spend time with her family boating on the Solent.

Lara Sampson

Director

Lara is a Director at CNM Estates with experience working across the marketing, development and finance departments of the company.

During her time at CNM Estates she has helped structure a number of complex facility agreements involving multiple projects, overseen the development of a variety of schemes, from planning through to completion, led a number of marketing & branding campaigns at both a project and corporate level (including the CNM Estates rebrand in 2017) and has been responsible for a far reaching community engagement programme which has, over the years, raised more than £100,000 for various charities.

In her current role she leads the day-to-day running of the UK side of the business APIO, is involved in the wider corporate strategy of CNM Estates and continues to work on financing the current portfolio.

Lara graduated with an Economics degree in 2014 and generally lives in Putney, London but during the Winter months is often found roaming the French Alps.

Lia Ciontea

Bookkeeper

Lia joined CNM Estates as a bookkeeper in November 2019 and oversees financial reports, maintains CNM’s accounts and supports the finance manager when necessary.

Born in Romania, Lia studied Management & Marketing and Human Resources before completing the foundation stages of her AAT at Richmond Upon Thames College.

Lia has had a varied career with roles including payroll administrator, accountant and crew trainer before joining CNM.

In Lia’s spare time she enjoys traveling to new places, socialising with friends and spending time with family.

Richard Demby

Associate Director

Richard is a MRICS qualified surveyor, and he holds a Master’s Degree in Construction Economics and Management and an Undergraduate Degree (BEng) in Civil Engineering.

Richard has significant knowledge and extensive experience in all the RIBA stages and with project values from £30k to £155m. He has worked on the development of out-of-town retail parks, affordable residential developments, and mixed-use residential led Build-to-Rent developments in the UK. He has a broad experience in property development ranging from new builds to refurbishments and fit-outs.

Prior to joining CNM Estates, Richard was a Development Manager – at Grainger PLC – working on the delivery of Grainger’s Build-to-Rent development pipeline from acquisition through to town planning, and then construction, leasing, and operations. Prior to joining Grainger PLC, Richard was a Project Manager – at CPC Project Services – providing project management services to institutional investors and local authorities. Prior to CPC Project Services, Richard was a Graduate Civil Engineer at Pell Frischman.

Richard is also a Non-Executive Director for a housing association (Greenwich Housing Society) which provides homes for people of pensionable age.

Wahid Samady

Chairman

Since 2004, he has worked in the UAE on a number of strategy and finance projects, working with senior government and private sector officials. He is currently working with a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce as Strategy Advisor.

From 1994 to 2004, Wahid was an executive with IBM Global Services, where he held the following positions:

Mr Samady has an MBA from INSEAD (92), MSc , Telecommunications from Kings College, University of London and BSc (Eng) Hons from Kings College, University of London.

Wahid lives between Abu Dhabi and London, is married with two children (24 and 15)
